Why we exist

Gambling can stop being fun and start to hurt. When that happens, people often feel ashamed and alone, and they do not know where to turn. GamblingHelp Asia was built to remove that confusion. Our mission is simple: connect anyone affected by gambling harm in the Philippines and across Asia with free, confidential, trustworthy help in as few clicks as possible.

We treat gambling as a form of entertainment that carries a built-in house edge, never as a way to make money. Over time the odds are designed to favour the operator, not the player. If gambling has become a source of stress, debt, or worry rather than enjoyment, that is worth taking seriously, and support is available right now.

Our independence

We want to be completely clear about who we are and who we are not.

  • We are not a gambling operator. We do not run, own, advertise, or earn commission from any casino, betting site, or game.
  • We are not a government body and we are not affiliated with PAGCOR or any regulator. We simply point you toward their official services.
  • We do not take money from gambling companies, and we never recommend a place to gamble.
  • Our only role is to signpost: to gather verified helplines and support services in one calm, easy-to-read place.

Because we are independent, our advice is shaped by your wellbeing alone. If you are unsure whether gambling has become a problem, our free and private self-assessment can help you reflect.

How we choose and verify helplines

Every service we list is a recognised, free, or non-profit support resource. We do not list private clinics that pay for placement, and we do not list anything that profits from gambling itself.

We verify each helpline against the organisation's own official channels, checking the phone number, hours, and what the service actually offers. Our directory was last fully verified in June 2026, and we re-check the details regularly because numbers and opening hours can change.

  1. We confirm the service is free or low-cost and genuinely independent of gambling operators.
  2. We cross-check phone numbers and availability against the provider's official website or published materials.
  3. We describe clearly who each service is for (the person gambling, families, or both) and whether it is confidential.
  4. We date-stamp our pages so you can see how current the information is.

For example, the PAGCOR National Problem Gambling Helpline on (02) 8248-9568 is free, confidential, available 24/7, and open to both people who gamble and their families. The NCMH Crisis Hotline on 1553 provides 24/7 mental-health crisis support, including gambling-related distress.

Our editorial principles

We write in plain English, with short sentences and no judgement. We assume you may be stressed, tired, or ashamed, and we try never to add to that. Reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

  • Accuracy first. We cite reputable bodies such as PAGCOR, the National Center for Mental Health, and established charities, and we link to their official pages.
  • No promotion. We never name, link to, or advertise any gambling brand, and we never suggest you can win.
  • Privacy. We respect your privacy; see our privacy notice for details.
  • Clarity over jargon. Where a concept is technical, such as self-exclusion, we explain it in everyday terms.

Our sources

We base our content on official and reputable organisations. Their sites carry the most current, authoritative information, and we encourage you to visit them directly.
